Hayward is the sixth largest city in the San Francisco Bay Area and is located on the Bay's eastern shore, sandwiched between San Lorenzo and Union City, at the eastern terminus of theSan Mateo Bridge. The estimated population in 2010 was 151,300,by 2030 it will have a population of 171,800 and bring in approximately 98,000 new jobs. The former suburbs of Mt. Eden and Schafer Park have been incorporated into Hayward.
